oooHello and welcome to my website. It is more of a “portfolio” site than a “sales” site. That’s not to say the pieces are not for sale, they are. Some are already sold, but if you see something you like, please contact me.
oooHere is where I write about myself as an artist. Writing in the third person about oneself is something I have yet to master, so you will have to suffer with a lot of “I”s.
oooSources of artistic influence seems to be a common question. Who influences me? Consciously, I feel that my painting experiences are far too full to be shared. Subconsciously, everything in life influences an artist. You are going along fine and you encounter Cézanne and BAM, your head explodes and he might just sneak into your palette. Then you encounter Morandi and BAM, your head explodes again (in a quiet sort of way) and you slow down, contemplate and simplify, which is very complex. You encounter Carmean (in person) and your draftsmanship opens up to so many possibilities. You encounter Van Gogh, Freud, and Diebenkorn and your head explodes beyond repair. Even digital artists have a BAM effect on paint pushers. That’s enough exploding, I think you get the idea.
oooWhy do I paint? Another common inquiry. I paint because just like a great architect must create architecture, I must paint. It is just in me. Take it away and I wither, return it and I grow. I might cuss, swear, and spit along the way, but I continue to grow. Just like true bonsai masters respond when asked about their skill level, “I am an amateur and will be one my entire life”, art for me is a never-ending growth experience.
oooI hope the above is enough of a diatribe for you. If you want more, contact me and please do not hesitate to contact me if you see something you like and/or would like to purchase. To make that as easy as possible, this website contains my phone number and an email button.
oooNow, go back and look at my paintings!
